1. World famous sunrise on Mt. Rigi

Every Sunday in July and August
More than a hundred years ago, ad- venturous travellers and those loving romance - amongst them Mark Twain - already visited Mt. Rigi. They wan- ted to see the world famous sunrise from the top of the mountain. Thanks to the ascent by modern trains, this natural spectacle can now be expe- rienced very easily and comfortably by everyone. The overwhelming pa- noramic view and the touching sound of the Alphorn will form a great setting for the majestic sunrise. After the sunrise, enjoy a rich breakfast in the cosy and tradi- tional Rigi Kulm Hotel.

2. Alpine traditions live

Day out with a mountain farmer
Enjoy a scenic train-ride from Vitznau, Goldau or Weggis to Mt. Rigi. On the top, you will be welcomed with a deli- cious bowl and snacks and meet the genuine mountain farmer Franz Toni. Next comes a short walk (approx. 20 minutes) to the alpine farm "Chäse-renholz" where participants spend about two hours making their own cheese. Afterwards you will enjoy the barbecue. Then experience the so called "Betruf", a traditional song-prayer of nearly forgotten days. An easy 30-minute-walk through charming mountain forests and over soft alpine meadows will take you back to the station. On the train-ride down you can admire the fantastic panoramic view once more.
